Responsibility starts with the core business

As a family-run building services provider, we take responsibility for how we deliver our services—both in our own operations and every day at our clients’ sites. This particularly involves our use of energy, transportation, materials, and cleaning chemicals, as well as ensuring safe and fair working conditions and maintaining reliable and transparent corporate governance. Our guiding principle sums it up: “For today. For tomorrow. For generations.” We take responsibility today, lay the foundation for a better tomorrow, and, as a family-owned business, think in terms of generations, not quarters.

That is why we focus our sustainability management on the areas where our business activities have a significant impact and where we can bring about change—either on our own or together with our customers, suppliers, and partners.

How we manage sustainability

Our sustainability management is based on a materiality analysis that is reviewed on a regular basis. It helps us identify relevant impacts, risks, and opportunities and prioritize our goals, measures, and key performance indicators accordingly.

Overall responsibility lies with the central management team. The sustainability management team works closely with the relevant departments—in particular, Purchasing, Human Resources, Occupational Safety, Quality Management, and Controlling. In this way, sustainability is integrated into existing decisions and processes.

Responsibility beyond the core business

In addition to further developing our core business, we have been committed to social and environmental projects for many years. These include the Piepenbrock Forest in Rheinshagen, our tree-planting initiative, the promotion of research and education, and our collaboration with nonprofit partners.

This commitment reflects our long-term perspective as a family-owned business. It complements our sustainability management, but does not replace our need to address the impacts of our own business activities.
